Does anybody have a similar system? Do you think the machine will be stable, I have an intake and exhaust fan. Will 330w be enough?

Don't have a similar system - don't see why the system wouldn't be stable. The retail proc will come with an adequate fan if you don't overclock too much. An exhaust and an intake fan should keep the dead air out of the system. My only comment would be why the ATI? Hope you don't game much.

Actually, I DO game much, that's why I have the ASUS V8200 pro. It's sort of the "All in Wonder" Geforce3. It's got composite & svideo inputs as well as outputs and 3-d glasses. The ATI is just a TV tuner Card. Thewhole system is for college, sort of to replace my TV, game system, DVD player, Stereo, pretty much my whole entertainment system. Hopefully I'll be able to configure the IR on the SB plat. to control everything.

Awww - geez. Sorry about that - I focused on the last spec and saw ATI and thought that was the vid card. My bad. Anyway, what you have spec'd out seems cool - what makes you think you might have a problem?

I agree with the idea of maybe getting a better hs/f and another case fan, or two. Those Athlons run a little hot. I know the Asus A7A266 will allow you to plug in two more directly to the mobo, which would allow you to monitor them in your Asus Probe.

You are obviously spending a lot of money on this system... so why not a 1.4 over a 1.3? And I take it your HDD is 7200rpm?

What kind of monitor are you planning on using with this thing?

I have a very similar system. I've got the 1.4 instead, but I do have an A7A266, and a GeForce3(VisionTek). 330 Watts should be plenty. I'm only running off 250 http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif and I've got no stability problems... but then again, I've got 5 extra case fans.

Right now, the price jump between the 1.3 and the 1.4 is still like $50. It doesn't seem worth it to me since i could just overclock. Which I'm not doing by the way. and yes, the HD is 7200 RPM. It's a retail by maxtor, and comes with an IDE controller and a 51/4'' bay adapter in case i want to go hog wild with storage someday. Oh, and I got a Proview 19'' monitor for now, I guess I'll see how it goes with that. After All I'm not made of $$ I gotta cut corners somewhere.
