Hey I was wondering which one of the operating systems was the best for game. I have WINME, my dad has XP and I use 2000 at school. I heard that 2000 was the worst for games but I'm not sure. So I was wondering if I should stay with WINME or upgrade to XP.
Any reply will greatly appreciated.:t

They are all about the same. It's all about configuration and patience.
I'm really tired of hearing that XP games better than 2000. It doesn't. If the game is not made for DOS or more than 5 years old, it will work fine.

2k IMO, does more or less the same as XP does but without all the silly flufiness and over-eagerness to do everything for you. And Bill is right, if anything, in my experience, 2k handles older games just as well as, if not better than XP

It's really personal preference between the 2, like jakk said 2k and XP are basically the same.
IMO 2k is the better OS.

I concur with BpB. Configuration is everything. My son used ME for the longest time with no problems whatsoever. He had it configured perfectly for him; he only upgraded to XP because a game building program that he likes was designed for XP and wouldn't function properly with ME.

Bluehail's benchmark graph does pretty much say it all so far as what performs best, with ME standing for 98 SE results too. 2000 and XP are essentially identical, and choosing between the two is purely personal preference.

Personally, I like XP over 2K, if for no other reason than all the extra ****. Sure, I've disabled some of it, but I like the option.
One other minor reason: it's been my experience that XP boots faster and shuts down faster than 2K.
