due the copyright protection, and the Nvidia drivers I can not watch a movie I purchased on my machine.
I did some research and found that I would have to roll back my drivers to watch a protected DVD:mad:
so instead I rip the DVD to my hard drive then watch it, but this is getting old quick!!!!!!
any suggestions????????????????????

What are your system specs? What program are you using to watch the DVD?
I'm using PowerDVD XP and have no problems watching my DVDs.

Theres a great little program called DVD Region Free that will fix your troubles. It de-zones your PC but also gets rid of macrovision so you can output to an older TV (that needs a VCR as a tuner) without the bloody macrovision stuffing everything up.

I was watching dvds from my ,machine not the TV-out, but part of the warning says that I am, I did some research and found out it's the drivers.
Nvidia made a fundamental change in the way that the drivers read Macrovision protection. Visiontek has always used the Nvidia reference drivers on cards based from the Nvidia reference design and the Nvidia reference BIOS. They are aware of the problems that a lot of customers are having with cards from many manufacturers and drivers newer than 30.82." .

Thanx, I have a program that does that.
"With many Nvidia Cards, such as the Geforece 3, a 3rd Party TV enconder chip is used; this chip is called the Connexant Bt868. The problem with this encoder is that it dosen't support Macrovision. Macrovision is basically the annoying black box the blocks out your DVD playback in TV mode.
Newer Nvidia Drivers (the one's past 41.XX) run into problems when trying to run DVD's with the card. Since it can't Find Macrovision it can't determine Region Encoding and therefore brings up and error message(In windows Media Player). Other DVD programs will Automatically black out the screen instead, making you just here the sound.
Unfortunately, if you want to run DVD's properly on your Machine you are going to have to use one of Nvidia's Older Drivers, the 33.XX series should work fine."
I'm trying to find a way a round rolling back my drivers, or having to rip the DVD to my HD to watch it. my ripping program removes the copy protection so I can then watch it from my hard drive
