Have an Asus A7M266 mobo with one ATA-100 controller. Went to enable UDMA on the cdrom and cd writer in the bios and was told not to unless I had a 80pin cable attached to them. Does this really make a difference? And if so does that mean I need another ATA-100 port for one of the CDROM drives, or just the 80pin cable connected to a regular eide port on the mobo?
