I wonder how they've stuffed this one up.

If 3Dmark03 was anything to go by, Futuremark lost its way at the same time they changed their name.

They want our money. The free version only runs about 10% of the tests and they also want you to have Windows Media Encoder 9 installed.

The person who reviewed here must have been a representative for the company or something. I honestly don't see what's so great about the program:rolleyes:

3D mark is still an okay tool if used ONLY for comparing one graphics card to another. It has no real relevance to so called 'real world' gaming.

Aquamark is probably one of the best benchmarks at present. Although it doesn't give a FPS (frames per second) reading, you can use its rating to see wether your current setup is gutsy enough to run current and upcomming games.

because of the nature of the tests I still prefere 3D mark 2001 due to the fact that so many results were obtained its easy to understand where performance of a PC stands at least to the point of making sense of the score

I'd use 3D Mark 2001 but it doesn't want to load if I have direct X 9 installed.
Its one of these dumb programs that won't work if DX8 isn't installed, rather than not working if you have DX8 or higher.

Very sloppy programming.

3DM2001 is a much better benchmark of your PCs graphical ability.

got 24,637 on this benchmark

got 3131 on 3DMark03

P4 @2.6, MSI mobo 865PE Neo2
512 ddr 400
Win XP
Nvidia 5700 128meg
WD 80GB @7200

Just wondering...are these scores about right for my setup?
