Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : What SoundBlaster is This?
Hello SysOptians.
I have an old P75 that I am fixing up for a cousin (just for e-mail). It has a soundcard, but the system doesn't recognize it (It says SoundBlaster, but it doesn't have drivers for the model). I am using WIndows 95 on it. How can I tell what card it is? there are no labels on it or anything. I am very sure it is creative. It has silver plugs (not coloured like the new) and also has two modem plugins (phone in and line in). Please respond ASAP
Thanks!

My Computer, Control Panel, System, Device Manager Tab, Sound, right click on the sound card shown, Properties....It should say what it is, and all the driver information. Is this where your computer wasnt telling you anything? or have you not tried this step yet?

If that doesn't work. Look inside the case at the card itself. It should have a FCC ID. It will say something like "FCC ID: X" (X being a long string of numbers and letters). Then go over the FCC's web page an plug it in. It will give you a model number.
Makaveli: that's exactly it: nothing shows there... Just Creative Labs SoundBlaster

From my experience not all cards have an FCC ID number. They are all supposed to, but that doesn't mean they do.
Cody: I will take a look at it when I stop by to talk to dad tonite.

Ok... I will check it again, but I sure didn't see one before.
BTW: Where can I type in the FCC number?
Well, I found it's FCC number, but the FCC page provides no info. about the product.
If you know somewhere else to look, here is the FCC ID: A7MMO6RRT3294
Here is the URL: http://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/oet/forms/misc/Grant_Form.hts?application_id=66092&mode=COPY&fcc_id=HA7MMO6RRT3294

Here you go little bro. Hope this will help. Next time just try the FCC search at Windrivers.com. Let us know if this works.

How can I use that to find drivers, though?
I searched for IPC on WinDrivers.com and got nothing.

Not sure...I will check in a little bit. I was just showing you that to show you what kind of card it was. You should be able to find the drivers now that you know what kind of card that is somewhere on the internet. Try searching on www.google.com (http://www.google.com) or some othe search engine.
