Is Call of Duty as good as BattleField 1942

Probably best WWII ive yet seen, that said i didnt think much at all of BF1942 so in a direct comparison, COD pans it senseless IMO

battlefield is alot better i think
u can do much more, flying etc etc
loads of maps, LOADS of GOOD mods!

but cod is good too, very short singleplayer (completed it in 4.7 hours in medium mode) but really good multiplayer
if i had the money, yes get it but bf still ownz all ww2 games ;)

I own both games and I gotta say my vote goes to Battlefield 1942. I get somewhat better frame rates in CoD I guess because it uses the old tried and true Quake 3 engine but then again, the graphics aren't quite as pretty. Not significantly better to make me say CoD is the better game b/c my machine handles both games very well. Hands down I gotta say what makes 1942 better is the ability to hop in and use virtually ANY vehicle or gun emplacement you see on the battlefield. CoD has some limited use of vehicles and you can man and use the stationary guns but not nearly to the degree you can in BF 1942. If you get sick of trudging around toting a rifle, you can hop in a P-51 and rain death from above, or hop in a panzer and watch your enemies fly 50 feet in the air when you land a well placed shell at their feet. The diversity of play mechanics and variety of weapons and vehicles make it so I never get tired of 1942. I also love the vast expansive spaces of the maps in 1942. And then there are the mods too. 1942 already has many good ones. Desert Combat is my favorite 1942 mod. I like CoD, just not as much as 1942. CoD is worthy of a spot on your game shelf but it falls short of the play experience of BF 1942. The thing I hate most about 1942 is when you've been standing around waiting for 2-3 minutes for that one vehicle you want to spawn and then some smack-tard spawns just at the same time and steals it from you. . . uuurrggh that burns me up.
