Ok - I'm sure none of you have heard this for a while - but I need a Modula-3 compiler. A nice IDE would be awesome - but any sort of compiler would work. I would prefer a Win32 installation - however a Linux version wouldn't be too bad, as long as it's not too complicated to install (I'm not REAL familiar with Linux). I've found a couple, the SRC Modula-3, however it requires MS Visual C++ 4 Libraries, which I don't have obviously and don't want to buy. I'm afraid I might have to use a Linux for that reason, from what I've found. A lot of other things I find are dead-links - since it's essentially a dead language and nothing has been updated since 1999 (for the NEW sites). Anyway - I'm gonna keep looking. It's for an independant class research project. Just thought I'd put the call out in the hopes that maybe someone has a clue on how to make this easier on myself?!

Thanks!

might help...but why invest time in a language that has been dead for that long?

It's a research project for a Computer Science class. Each team (2 students) get a language that they have to research and then write a paper about it's data access methods and various implementations, and then write emulate a turing machine in that language. Luckily since he gave the assignment out late this year - all we have to do is write the turing emulator, no paper :). Not too bad of a task if I could get a compiler. I've tried the M3PCDOS one - and it doesn't seem to work under XP - so I guess I'll have to do some hard drive arrangements and get 95 back on here :S I'll talk to the professor tomorrow - he might have a clue.
