Well the LA Times gave theri rendition of the computer environment in another 20 years. It is a bit tounge in cheek. they even got a jab in at farmers there at the end. In some places, the power is on for only a couple of hours a day now. It's not safe to drive because the traffic lights can't be trusted

everything runs the same operating system--even my electric shaver I'd have a problem putting something with windows on it that close to my neck. Anybody, remember the movie Maximum Overdrive, based off a short story by Stephen King, now that is what I would imagine a world run by windows. But now I would put more trust in a world run by farmers than Bill Gates.

Scary thought, having windows so widespread. (Hmm, so It really WAS M$ that created that EULA system, eh? Well, I don't care for it much...) I think it's a good article, in that it gets you to think.
