anyone know what it means?
i tried finding a patch but cuold'nt find one!
Don't use the 'no cd crack'
It's illegal
And it just might be your problem.

The no-cd crack probably IS the problem, as I have the game and it runs just fine on my "so-so performance" machine..
The game is quite a bit of fun with great story and movie integration. (WARNING.. there are scenes from ROTK embedded in this game!)
That being said, I'm off to buy the TTT deluxe dvd set that came out today!!

technically, I don't believe that it's illegal to use the no-cd crack if you legally own the game.. however, most new games are coming with software to prohibit this
It's illegal because you're editing something that you've no rights to... so to say. (you've really only got the rights as if you're borrowing it)
I'm not a "square", But I figured it was the problem. :t

For $50, I would hope that you at least owned the rights to that particular copy, but I see your point..
Personally, I don't use the noCD cracks since games nowadays tend to have extra features left on the CD such as movies and some sounds..

how is the game? I dled EA's demo of it and it felt warcraft 3.
How is the retail version?

To my knowledge No CD cracks are not illegal. However you aren't going to find much help troubleshooting your problems with it. Just use the CD (im sure you bought it, right?) and live with it.

nocd cracks are NOT illegal... If you purchased the game and you're not making copies for anyone else, whoever made the game got their money and isn't losing anything by you using a nocd crack. All you're doing is making it more convienient for yourself not having to re-load the cd each time, and also keeping the disk scratch free.
That being said, just becuase it's not illegal, doesn't mean it isn't the problem. Re-install the game and launch it normally with the CD and see what happens.

Logan, I think you're confusing Return of the King with War of the King, both are LOTR games. But War of the King is pretty much a skin for WC3.. Return of the King on the other hand is much like The Two Towers game that came out last year... only better IMO

The Return of The King is an EA game .. this is the official site (http://www.eagames.com/official/lordoftherings/returnoftheking/home.jsp)
And this is where to find the demo (http://www.electronic-arts.com.au/eagames/product_description.php?product_id=206)
Check it out.. it's definetly a very cool game.
I know that this game is also for ps2...
:t
You need a gamepad to play the game. The keyboard and the mouse are too complicated.

you can get gamepads for under $20 though.. and most definetly worth it.. Some games demand the use of gamepad!!

bought it today
great game, satisfactory graphics with medium settings on GF3 Ti200, sound effects/music are dramatic as expected. Gameplay feels like two towers for ps2 and probly just as hard or even harder.
worth buying

I've been playing Return of the King. As good as the cut scenes are after you've seen them once you don't really care about seeing them again. Since I can't always finish a level the first time I need to find a way to skip the movies. I've hit just about every key and mouse button available and the movie just keeps playing. Any ideas? Otherwise the game is getting deleted.

Hmm.. interesting.. I've been able to skip the movies. Let me check on it before you delete the game and I'll post back in a few hours!
Cheers
