SysOpt

Some of you may remember SysOpt's old overclocking survey, and how it died due to the inability for users to submit results for new processors.

The overclocking database has been resurrected and redesigned. In a nutshell, the database takes submissions from users about their PC's configuration and overclocked settings. Then, site visitors can search through that data to find out how well specific motherboards, processors, fans/heatsinks/compounds/etc, work in various configs.

It's in beta/data collection mode right now. Please submit your overclocking results! If you notice that the submission form is lacking something important, please let me know so I can add it. The ability to search through the database will be added within a few days.

Very cool! I want to list a PII-300 I had half a year ago, but I can't choose Pentium II. I'm also missing AMD K6-3. Maybe it would also be a good idea to put in P3 Katmai, P3 Coppermine and P3 Tualatin rather than just P3 (and the same with Celeron). Just a few ideas. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

Cool, thanks. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif I've now submitted 3 configs. I hope it will be helpful to someone. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

How about adding K6-3+, already listed both of my systems on the survey.

Hey,
Great Job w/ the forum, everything is amazing! I haven't been here in a while...but I did have time to submit an OC'ed ol' system of mine...I do have one suggestion, for the RAM amounts, you should let the user input the amount instead of having pre-selected amounts. I wasn't able to enter in the exact memory I had in my system.

Everything looks great...keep up the good work!!

Thanks everyone.. The user interface is coming along nicely.. This *should* be SysOpt's "next big thing" http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif.

Might just be me, I'm not a morning person, but I can't see how to look at others results.

The data browser / user interface isn't operational yet. I should have it completed today.

Sweet! I was just going to suggest something like this! I was spending to much time at http://www.overclockers.com . Great choice Sysopt! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

One suggestion as a follow-up to Barney's: If you list P3 Coppermine, etc., also give what that is in English for those of us beginners (ie, P3 XXX Mhz to XXX Mhz).

Just added Mom's computer (the one with the air duct). I'd post my own, but I still don't have my motherboard back http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif. Stupid RMA.

moebius: Please try again.. I fixed that glitch.

I thought it was strange there was so few inputs for RAM. I think there should be a generic/select brand field, and latentcy.

SysOpt
08-13-2001, 05:01 PM
What does everyone else think about the RAM field? Should I include a field for RAM brand and/or one for latency?

Here's the user interface. Keep in mind this is still beta. If it breaks or does something weird, please let me know:

Just gave it a little try, worked fine, nice and simple to use.
Would be nice to have the members name as well as an anonymous link, privacy providing.

Added name to each record.. If the user said that they can be contacted, a link should appear on the right side of each record that will allow you to email them through a form.

how about adding palimino ahead of time? keep the database up to date! Other then that it looks really good!

Looks good so far, added a few of my o/c'd systems with no probs to note.

I noticed a 1.5 GHz P2 in the list with something like a 450 MHz FSB. Might want to remove that one....

I just added two of my rigs.

Finally SysOpt has a CPU database! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

SysOpt

Yeah I caught that P2 entry.. Until a few minutes ago, anyone could submit entries. Now, only registered sysopt users can submit..

I have a jetway mobo and all i could find was Jet! is this the same company or is jetway not on the mobo list?

Also what about adding a benchmark score column? Like SiSoft Sandra or 3Dmark so that the database users can see what type of score other users are getting.

I changed Jet to JetWay. The ability to add benchmarks is coming soon, as is the ability to modify/edit your previous submissions.

I'm not sure if this would be a great idea for the AMD's but it would be probably be fine for the Intel's; How about adding a temperature section? Like idle temp, and load temp?

i dont know if i just missed it coz im already sleepy but i think a database such as this shld also contain voltage settings and other pertinent settins in order to "duplicate" OCing speeds.

I've added some fields to the submission form. If you already submitted results, don't worry, you'll soon be able to edit your submissions to add data.
