Guys, I'm looking for a program that will take an image of my WD 60GB HDD with WinXP Pro installed to a new Maxtor 80GB HDD.

I just got through the mail a new Maxtor 80GB/8MB Cache/7200 RPM HDD to replace this 60GB / 2MB Cache /7200 RPM HDD

I really don't feel like backing up, formating, installing xp, calling Billy boy gates and installing all of my software again wich can take up a couple of hours.

So what software do you guys use?

All Partitions on this machine are in NTFS btw.

Thanks In Advanced,

- Gabe

I was thinking on Drive Image from PowerQuest (http://www.powerquest.com/driveimage/)

Ghost 2003? Never did think of it.

It would allow me to make an image to another hard drive, which is good because I have another 60GB, and this other 60gb (boot) is only using up 7.21GB

I didn't see anywhere on powermax that it could clone the old drive to the new drive. That's why I asked for a third party software :p

I got Ghost 2003, ran to Best Buy and got it from a friend of mine who works there, nice employee discount :D plus the mail in rebate.

It's doing it right now, it's going to take about two hours though, I left the new drive in the external enclosure

The nice thing about DI7 is that it can do image files from Windows. Pretty cool.

I knew what you meant, BPB. :) Powermax is still good to have, just in case the drive is acting funky.

Why buy something when you can get a freebie? Try Maxblast3 first. If you don't like it, then invest some $$.

I agree on why buy something when you can have a freebie.

I really didn't bother going to maxtor's website and search that deep, and I have a nice trust in Symantec products. I mostly get symantec products such as, Norton Internet Security, PC Anywhere, Norton Anti Virus, and now Ghost 2003.

I wonder why Maxtor doesn't include their migration software in their hard drives like Seagate and Western digital do.

Thanks alot for the tips you guys, I greatly apreciate it :)
