Trying to get Lotus smartsuite to co-operate with windows 2000 is becoming a pain.
Ive tried all versions up to v9.0 and none work properly
Getting the error : Cannot find smarticons then crash
Will work for the installer - ie administrator but not anyone else
It seems its not compatible with 2k/xp
Latest version probably will but IT budget is tight in this place and they've asked me to find a workaround!
Anyone got any hacks or ideas to get it working?
Ive had a look at the profile but the smarticons dont seem to be stored in the profile or any links to them!
cheers in advance!

I have SmartSuite 97 and SmartSuite 8 (One edition later?). I will try and install it on my Windows XP machine and see how things come out if I can find the discs. (I could not locate the folder that contained them.)
Does Windows 2000 support running programs in compatability mode after some updates? If so you could try that as a work around. Simply get the properties from the shortcut and tell the program to run in compatability mode.
I do know that SmartSuite 9.6 supports Win2k. Can you get any updates? (http://www.bigdaddysoftware.com/lotsmarmiled1.html)

Sounds like its a registry issue.
Login as administrator
ave a look in HKCU under software - you will find a key called Lotus
Export it to a .reg file
Login as whoever and import that file into HKCU again!
I just tested it and it does work for me on XP
Your setup may be different but Im pretty confident you should be ok!
According to the Lotus support site and IRC there is no fix!
Aye right they just want you to pay £135 for the latest version!
hate ripoffs!
If that doesnt work Raehell is right - try using compatability mode

I have a small addition to my post before. I have SmartSuite 95 and 97 so Version 97 is the latest I have.
Upon install I received a compatability error about Lotus Approach not being compatible with this version of windows (XP). I was able to run each application and save and create files with no problems.
It appears that you may need to update from the last post as Lotus states there is no fix for this problem. I will not be able t help much, but maybe you could post some specifics about ylour problem. We may be able to come up with our own work around.
