I just built a system for my brother using the EPoX 8KTA3. I really like this board. Everything went very smooth. Posted the first time I hit the switch. Hooked up the drives ,installed software, and it booted first try. Installed sound card, and modem one at a time. Had a (port already open) message with the modem and it would not dial. Powered off, moved modem down 1 slot, and bingo. Dialed up ISP without a hitch.

Have fun! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I have an 8KTA3 with a Duron 800@980 [140/280 bus] I'm very happy with it. I would suggest a 7200 rpm HD. I just switched from a 5400 rpm Maxtor to a 7200 rpm Western Digital and it does make a difference. Avoid the Delta 38 cfm cpu fan as they are very noisy. I had one and I replaced it due to the noise after only a week. Have fun.
Oh, I forgot get good ram. CAS 2- Crucial, Micron, Kingmax etc. I'm using Kingmax PC150.

No, it will continue to operate at the specified bus speed. But if you can jack up your FSB without sacrificing stability while maintaining proper processor cooling, then by all means go for it. I guarantee you won't complain about the resulting boost in performance.
