In recent days, we've been talking about the Half-Life 2 release date on Half-Life Radio. Some stores are noting November 11th, 12th, and even December 1st as the release date, while both Valve and Vivendi remain quiet.
The Facts:
Valve has said "Holidays 2003" for Half-Life 2. Despite all the problems they had a month ago, they have not commented on any other release date.
Our staff from Half-Life Radio went to Valve Software recently and asked Gabe Newell about the release date. Gabe stated, "Holidays".
A former employee of Vivendi announced "April 2004". This date came only from one Vivendi employee. The employee is nolonger with Vivendi.
.............I know, I know, many people will say, "But.. what about..." and "I read somewhere that the release date said April 2004!" and so on. All of those things that you have read were not official press releases from Valve or Vivendi. Even if it was quoted on CNN or some other gaming site, Valve never confirmed it and Vivendi never made anything official.
Here's the rest of it: http://www.halflifesource.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=834
I am left half convinced. I guess it would be nice to have HL2 for the holiday's, but I won't be getting it a the MSRP $50 anyway. :p
P.S. I want Deus Ex 2 more anyways. :t
