I'm ready to buy a thunderbird cpu. What fan should I use on it? Where to get it? i also am getting an Enlight7237 case with 300W power supply and a fan included and installed. Do I need another fan? If so, which one and where to get it? thanks

That case doesn't have a space in the back for another fan. however, the front mount fan is big enough to put two back to back to increase the in-flow. Not sure about the T-bird. Is that a socket-A? like the duron? If so, I got the golden orb for my duron and one for my Athlon. I like them very much.

The 7237 has a mount for a case (back) fan. I have one. T-Bird is SocketA and the Golden Orb is a good CPU fan BTW

Golden orb, isnt that about the same as the super orb. I was told that these orb fans were to blame for many damaged chips.

Yes, if you are not careful in buying and installing, the GOrb can kill an Athlon faster than you can say 'Doh!'. I use a Super Orb on my Athlon, but would not recommend it because I had to modify mine to get mine going. There are many GlobalWins or others out there to work well. Be SURE that if you get a 266MHz fsb processor, that you get the HIGHEST rated fan for it. I have seen 3 1.2GHz 266MHz fsb cpus fry in the last 2 weeks because of using fans rated for processors below 1.4GHz. Spend the extra $$ for the fan and be happy when it works well. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
