I just burnt a CD of my MP3s, but I have a problem. It made them read only. Oh, and another thing -- My WinAmp can't read .wma files. How can I fix this?

Oh, and another thing -- My WinAmp can't read .wma files. How can I fix this? NDC 08-11-2001, 09:30 PM I just burnt a CD of my MP3s, but I have a problem. It made them read only Well, what's the only way the file(s) attribute could be, READ-ONLY. All data burned to CD will be read-only, unless you use packet writing software such as Direct CD or InCD which leaves the session open for you to alter the contents and have any attribute(s) you want. As for burned CDR medias, READ-ONLY is normal. CDROM = Compact Disk Read Only Memory... Warthog Imperion1 08-11-2001, 11:05 PM http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/en/download/default.asp Here ya go. They've added some new stuff to it since I've last been to this page, but I believe that you want the developers downloads. This should play the *.wma files. Of course media player 6.4 should play them anyway. So will media player 7. NDC 08-11-2001, 11:55 PM Good question, Warthog! Having Mp3 files as read-only causes no limitations playing them. Is it a different problem? nishant 08-12-2001, 01:15 AM The thing you said about Winamp not playing some files is probably because you downloaded the standard version , download the full version from their site, it should work fine after that. P.S: Uninstall your old winamp before installing the full version Regards -Nishant Moogs2K1 08-12-2001, 08:59 AM Well, it's not really a problem, it's just that I want all of my MP3s to be the same... My friend (who burned me the CD) has a different way of writing the names out, and I guess I just want everything to look the same... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif wahrez 08-13-2001, 04:30 AM I assume that you mean you want to write the ID tags differently, these are stored within the MP3 files, which would require that you copy the files to your computer, make alterations and then burn them to another CD. ..WahreZ PS. Can I also suggest that in future you write proper Topic headlines, it will help people answer your questions. SysOpt.com
