I just posted this reply to someone in this forum.
Thought I would share it with you guys... I want to know if this works in other cities like I think it does. I'm in Rochester, NY btw.
Go to ebay, do a search for "monitor" and then restrict the search to your local area. (advanced search options)
If you live in a city you will see monitors come up and "most likely" you will see someone selling MANY monitors. Every city has companies that buy "off lease" monitors...
EXAMPLE: Company X leases a dozen 21" monitors for 3 years... when the lease is up it is easier for companies like dell (the leasing company) to just sell these off lease monitors for pennies on the dollar to a local "refurb" guy. The refurb guy picks up the monitors, slaps a 3 year warrenty on them and sells them in his shop (and in many cases on ebay) for up to double what he paid for them and it's still a good deal for the buyer.
Anyway - check it out. I just got a Dell p1110 (i think that's the model number) 21" with a 3 yr warrenty for $250 and it's beautiful.
Let me know if you try this and it works in your city.

btw - the place I bought from didnt even charge me tax because I bought the monitor on ebay. (I don't think that's legal but I didnt complain)... Also this place had lower prices for their monitors on ebay then they did in their store - I "had" to buy it on ebay to get the deal. Then I just walked in and picked it up.
