Hi Guys I just wanted to find out what are the essential tools & utils (pref. freeware or shareware) that you can't live without on your PC?

I'll start the ball rolling with:

X-Desk (Multiple Desktops)
ZoneAlarm (Firewall)
AutoExit (Schedule shut-downs and restarts locally and remotely)
KaZaA (Online File-sharing)
Real Jukebox (Not my pref. choice but I've got over 7,000 tracks and it has great track management features.)

I'm particularly interested in what apps you guys use for monitoring your internet connections and things like this?

Cheers

Wahrez

Hard one...then I found only one shareware app...Webferret. All the rest I bought.

One other neat thing is powerzip...much better than winzip simply because it does rar's and such as well as anything winzip does.

Haven't seen 'em mentioned yet, so thought I would throw these two into the hat:

Both are free from AnalogX www.analogx.com (http://www.analogx.com)

NETSTAT LIVE Real-time monitoring/reporting of your uploads and downloads, CPU utilization, system threads, and more. Way cool utility for free!

MAXMEM Utility to free memory on your machine. Can be set to periodically do it for you at certain thresholds, or you can do manually from systray. Also very handy, and did I mention free? http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I see alot of utilities listed that are already part of Windows (i.e. msconfig). Here's one for you, Delpart, ever try to delete an NTFS partition? This originally came with Windows NT 3.1 and is freely available on the internet (very easy to use, works great!).
