I am thinking they should do about the same thing. Read CDs.
But I recently bought a cd player, and some of the CDs won't play in the player. Won't even start to play. The ones that do, play great, but some will do nothing but spin.
But I put them in my CD drive and they play great.
So whats up with this? Is the CD drive more sensitive than a CD player?

They are the same thing. They are both CD-ROM drives. Some drives are better than others.

Are these burned cd's or store bought?

A lot of burned cd's wont work in just any stand alone cd player if thats what your running across here.

These are new CDs, right out of the wrap. I put them in the player and they would only spin.
Don't understand, but I hate to buy another one.
