Couple of tips.

First, wash the face plate with luke warm water and dish detergent. Be sure its removed from the cdrom first. lol

Second, after the face plate is dry, when you pick the plate up, try to avoid touching the front side of the plate. This will keep you from getting any skin oil on the plate.

Third, use a light coat of white or light grey primer before painting. The primer is to help the paint stick to the plate better.

I went the hardware store and I might have went to far.

I sprayed the cd face plate. I then relized it looked good so I spent the rest of the evening taking apart my 19" monitor. I then continued to spray paint my entire monitor black. It all turned out great. Now I have noticed that my Microsoft Optical needs a little spray paint.

The monitor really does look great. It made a huge difference to the machine. Dell 8100.

Um, you were spray painting in a well ventilated area, right? <IMG SRC="http://www.contrabandent.com/pez/cwm/cwm/freak5.gif" border=0>

Put down the spray can and step away from your mouse. lol

Besides, I think the mouse would still feel tacky even after a few days. Ya know, caused by the heat and moisture from your hand.

I am going to spray my DVD face plate midnight gray. As most of you know this color and similar colors are the shades of black on most dark computer equipment. ie.Mice, keyboards, monitors, and most importantly my Dell computer.

Anyone know were I can get that color.
