Has newegg.com moved to new location?

I rember seeing my items start to ship at califorina. Now it appeared that my current items start at NJ. (Checked out the tracking number using FEDEXPRESS)

Or do newegg have multi locations?

I just ordered a sony dvd burner from them a couple days ago, received it today and it came from CA... Kinda sucks for me because I have to pay tax on it, but the good news is that it arrives very fast.

They are called outlets. IE closest warehouse to you that they have with that part. So they ship from there to save on shipping costs..next time maybe Cali again. It depends. Newegg has sent to me from like 3 diff locations already.:t

It doesn't make since. You'd think that it would be the closest warehouse all the time. I can think of two reasons for this behevior:

1) Newegg doesn't have a very good system OR

2) The items are kept in various storehouses so that they can keep track of them better.

The second would make more since because if it were me running newegg, I would put an entire product in one warehouse, so that I wouldn't have to ship things twice to get them to my costomers. Less money.:)

i think the reason why newegg ships different locations because they have certain products carried in certain warehouses

like product X belongs in warehouse A
product Y belongs in warhouse B
etc.

this makes newegg more efficient + reduces shipping costs. thats why they are so great! :)

although i also use svc, 1coolpc, monarch computers, and directron.....sometimes neweggs just a tad bit more expensive than others

I would think its more likely that they are out of product X at location A, so it ships from location B. Or whichever warehouse has that specific product in stock.

I agree. And why not have the two warehouses in the same state? Because this way one or the other is closer sometimes and saves shipping. Lowes and such does this-same thing:t

I believe they just recently started shipping from the new jersey location, pretty sure I read that on their website somewhere, anyway I always get stuff from them fast anyway even when sent from CA...

Personally I could care less if they shipped it from BumF---edEgypt. All I know is that you can order it one day and usually three days later it's sitting on your door step.

THAT is what matters to me and my clients.

NEWEGG is what internet shopping is suppose to be like....FAST.

I'm in NY. I got a jersey pkg the other day too. I think they just have an east coast branch for cheaper-easier shipping this way.

They just didnt have it in stock at their smaller NJ warehouse. But had it at the main warehouse in cali. Base of operations and all. Thats option #2. #1 would be who's closets unless out of stock-ergo your situation.;) :t

I think it's because they were overwhelming the local FedEx center. I've been told that Newegg is one of Fedex's biggest accounts.
