When i shut down win2k i still have to press powerbutton to turn computer off, my question is there any way i can get conpter to shut off without me pressing power button?
Before you ask yes it is an ATX.
specs:
ATX case 250w PS
800 AMD duron
10 gig WD
PCCHIPS 810LMR 266fsb MOBO(sound,video,modem and lan onboard)

It sounds like ACPI is disabled in your BIOS power management. To change this go to Device manager and expand computer. Change the driver from standard pc to ACPI pc. Restart and enable ACPI in the power management section of your BIOS.

Windows will re-install your hardware after this so you will need your driver disks. After all this it should work.
