Heyz,
I've been search on the internet how to remove the Pentium II case. I have found some sites but they don't actually tell me how to remove the case for my particular PII.
Does anyone have a site which can be of assistance?
Thanks for your time :)
Alex.

I'm confused:confused:
Could you explain some more.
Do you mean the case of the CPU, if it's one of them slot CPUs, or do you mean the case that everything is in?

Yeah it's a Slot 1. So I just want to find out how to remove the casing so that i can install a new heatsink on to the CPU Core.
EDIT: Processor is S.E.C.C. 2

SECC2? PII 350?
Anyway, for SECC1, you need to first unscrew the heatsink, lift off the plastic back casing with a screwdriver, and then remove the two metal retention bars off the back. That will give you access to the CPU.
SECC2 would simply involve unscrewing the four screws on the back.

Yeah i've tried to remove the screws but on the heatsink side, it has this sort of screw extenstion thingy which is like that pin so that moves as well and that means that the screw doesn't come out.

Hmm... try removing the plastic casing. The nuts holding down the screws are probably backside, under the plastic casing

I would have thought it would if it scratched the CPU.

I have a crazy question. Why are you trying to modify a PII 350???
Wouldn't that be like trying to add nice rims to a Ford Pinto.

does the plastic casing on both sides of the CPU? if not then when i had my experiences with them, there should be some clips like you have that hold down a graphics card cooler that you just pinch and the casing comes off, also, you could use a self tapping screw to digg out the screws you have in there now withough any problems. Put some more pics of the other side of the proc, both sides.
I believe he wants to remove the plastic in order to reduce the heat that builds up inside the little bas7ards. I personally took a dremel and cut the case on my old one so that the only plastic that remained was that to hold the cpu cooler on.

Notice on the back side of that P3 slot one, almost on the edges are 4 of those clips i was talking about, just pinch them and push them back through the PCB.

^bump^
Can anyone help, is there any other way to remove it easier than breaking the screws off?
EDIT: PII case is off now :)
