I have a M7VIB mobo that won't boot. No video, nothing but all fans working. Power supply checks ok. Pulled all cards and disconnected all drives in attempt to get beep codes. No beeps. Pulled video, cpu, and memory. Still no beep codes. Tried various combinations of video, cpu, and memory. Still no beep codes. Any suggestions? Is it safe to say that the board is a gonner? Thanks!

Did it previously work, or is this a new build? If the latter, take the mobo out of the case, lay it on a non-conductive surface and connect the CPU/heatsink, one stick of RAM and the video card ONLY (and the power plug obviously). Short the pins you normally hook the power stitch up to with a screwdriver and see if you can get it to POST. If it does, it was grounding on the case. Make sure the standoffs are there, and in the right places ie. only under the screwholes on the board. Let us know how it goes.

Remove the board from the case, place it on a soft, non-conductive surface near the case and plug in the ATX power. Leave in the CPU and RAM. Place the vid card in and connect the monitor. Connect the power. Nothing else needs to be connected. Press down hard on the vid card and use your screwdriver to short the POWER BUTTON pins. See if it POSTs.

I took the board out of the case and tried to post with just cpu, memory, and video. Still not a go. Anything else before I declare it officially dead?

Thanks!

I can't think of a thing other than trying another video card.

I did have 1 do the same thing but after I pulled it from case & booted out of case w/ new psu it worked. had to put it back in w/ paper washers.
