Drag mode is hard, other than that, excellent. In fact im preorderign it now, alos the music looks to be great with TCM onboard with a track for their new album which personally, i cant wait for either :D

Infinitley so, Midnight Club 2 showed promise but its execution was flawed, it had no realism to speak of, the control system was ridiculously flawed and it smacked of mediocre-consoleness. NFS Underground looks to carry on the strong and entertaining gameplay of the NFS series but in an urban '2 Fast 2 Furious Setting', this is definitley one for all the Max Power readers out there

Great game, i just finished racing people online (got my **** kicked) but it was a lot of fun. Its about time a decent racing game comes to the PC market. I don't think this game will be "Gran Turismo" calibur as far as single player is concerned, but the multiplayer aspect makes this game very attractive... I'll have to get it when the full version comes out. FWIW, I used a gamepad to play it.

Curious, what are the system requirements for this game? And does it us DirectX or OGL?

DX methinks

Ive been seriously pondering over a wheel for soem time, but this game has pushed me over the edge. Om gonna invest in a wheel, some new cans and play this thing in zee dark :x

I'm thinking about a wheel as well. I know there is a logitech force feedback wheel that works with both PS2 and PC. If I decide to get one, that will be it so I can use it for both.

I tried doing a search for the system requirements, and found a site that said 1500mhz processor and atleast a GF2 card, but I doubt those were official specs. Either way, the game looks stunning and plays super smooth with the highest resolution and graphics settings the demo has on my system with a Ti4400 and 2500+@3200+

Woooww! absolutely incredible graphics, beautifull rendered cars and surroundings, really fast, makes you think you warped into the fast and the furious.

I've been waiting for it to come out patiently, but now I wished they released it yesterday.

I'm a real race freak and this game is going to be a must have.

Nice graphics, but the interface just plain sucks and the music track they decided to include just plain blows.
No matter what I tried I was unable to configure my gamepad and so had to use the defaults which feel unnatural to me.

Was impressed by the reflections in the water on the streets though.

tis a good demo, new wheel on the way....

BTW, the Logitech unit is Logitech Momo Racing Wheel and works with PS2 & PC and is meant to be the best wheel built at the moment.
Currently sitting in the local delivery depot waiting for delivery on Monday (I ordered it Friday night 17:45 and it's posted, ready for collection/delivery today, but they don't work Sat :())

Just tried it. Got a friend with cable to download it for me as I'm in no mans land on dialup. I have a momo racing force wheel and it works really nice with this demo. The force feedback effects are 100% better than than nfshp2 (which was made for the key pushing/gamepad crowd). The drag racing really gives you a sence of speed with the steering wheel pulling to the right on take off and it almost rips the steering wheel out of your hands when you crash or you get bumped from another car. I hope that they give you an in car view with the final release. Doesn't ea know that us guys that have wheels like this view. If they don't add this view, I'll pass on the full release. How hard can it be to add this?

Yeah i was saddened by the dropping of the cockpit view after NFS3 :(

Is that the full version Ramon? I didnt know it was out yet, though with the release delays we have in the UK, it may well be out already over the pond

no, its the demo... was working fine and now it isn't. I did install the new nForce drivers on that same day, but i'm unsure if I installed them before or after installing the demo. All my other games work fine. I may try uninstalling/reinstalling the demo.

how many tracks will the game have? (drag, circuit and drift)

Bigjakkstaffa
11-10-2003, 02:31 PM
Dunno hope its more than NFSHP2 had though, which was like 6 tracks with 8 variations per track giving a lot of fairly repetetive and boring circuits:(
