i wanted to have a quiet PC but i dont want it to be too hot. i only have a PSU export fan and a CPU fan. are these safe temps? - CPU under load - 125F MB - 105F Maxtor 7200RPM - 122F
these are the maximum temperatures ive seen after playing a game or doing something else intensive.

Those are fine.
125°F = 51°C and that's perfectly good.

BpB i think u might have read it wrong
CPU:125F
MB: 105F
Maxtor: 122F
51C is WAYYYY to high for a CPU
and 105 is a little high for MB
i think you might want to consider getting standard air flow
IE: 1 intake fan 1 exhaust
and if that doesnt work a new CPU fan would be nice
Speeze, Vantec Aeroflow, and SLK-800 are good stuff
the speeze is 7 bucks if your on a budget and the Aeroflow is about 20-30 with shipping. and the slk-800 is for supreme overclockers

CPUs can take 70°C easily.
Here's mine and it's fine:

Mid to upper 50's...then, I'd be a bit nervous...not much, though.
Low 50's...no problems or concerns...
BP...check out the new NForce drivers for 2K and XP...it's a keeper!

oops lol sorry bpb i dont think i was thinking very much when i posted. i think I read wrong, i was thinkin he had 51C idle :x
sorry bout that
51C is pretty ok for load, like dajogejr said id be a bit nervous but 7 bucks for a speeze hsf at newegg.com is a cheap solution and probably drop your temps considerably........maybe about 10C if your using the stock cooler (this is if you have a AMD cpu)

ok thanks. im not really worried about it. im planning on upgrading and getting a whole new system anyway as soon as the R400 and NV40 come out (next summer). buying a new hsf would just be a waste of money. just makin sure tempe are ok. i knew that my palomino 1800+ can go as high as 85 C but i was just curious.
