I would like to know if any of you sysopters has had any experience with the Creative DeskTop Theatre DTT3500. What do you think about it in regards to quality?

This is what I will have in new system:
SoundBlaster X-Gamer 5.1
PC-DVD Encore 12x
Dxr3 Decoder (so I can watch DVD on TV)

I don't quite understand this whole Dolby Digital thing. I was told that the DestTop Theatre was practically made for the X-Gamer. Then how come the X-Gamer only has analogue output via minijack? To be true Dolby Digital, wouldn't it need some kind of digital output?

I guess what I really want to know is what do I need to have a true Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound setup? Will the setup I already have do the trick?

Explanation (in depth) would be very cool! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Thanks, I just met a new guy down the street who has the X-Gamer. So I got a hands on look at it and he explained it to me. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

But I am still curious as to what you all think of the DTT3500's quality and such or if there is a better brand stays in the price range.

I don't remember, but if the DT3500 is digital 5.1 it'll be plenty.
