my sister in law wants to give me a gift
but i can't except one because relatives comes first

due to juan my sister in law loss her roofing shinges and i replace
them and help her in the stock market and thinks she owns
me something ,i don't think so,what do you think

thats what i told my wife,after i explain my feelings about this

my sister in law is by herself and i want to help her

and i don't want money or gifts ,thats what relatives are for

If she is by herself and doesn't ask for too much, then just politely refuse. Unless its food.:r
But, if it becomes a constant habit about doing things day in and day out for her, then accept.

But, food is always good. Especially if its home cooked. Well, unless your wife's cooking is better. My wife can't cook.

Walk a fine line when dealing with an unattached woman...even a sister in law can become a thorn in your wifes side when trying to be nice to another woman.

Just tell her that she is family, and you don't not feel right about accepting gifts for helping family..if she insists, then ask her to consult with your wife to choose something approprate..or just wait until some gift giving occasion.

I’m the type person that doesn’t ask for help very often. But when I do, I always do something to show how much I appreciated my friends help.

As a compromise, suggest that maybe she can return a favor like baby sitting or helping you with something she’s good at a future time.

well never mind, but glad the insurance paid. Sorta fixes everything!

If she feels she owes you something ever again, just find something she can help you with. Say she works at Pizza hut, get a free pizza once in a while. She'll feel good about herself, and you'll get a free pizza. My mom always says everyone has something to give. I think I took her to literally so I have my "free movie people", my "free food people" etc. They are happy to do it because I help them whenever.
