I have a Antec TruePower 430W P/S which came in my 1080 Plus case a little over a year ago. Lately my computer has been slow booting up, and the hard drive light is on steady. At first I thought it was a hard drive issue, but i disconnected all hard drives and cdrom drives and it still happened. Then while in the BIOS I checked the voltages, and the 5V was below 4.5V(verified with my DMM). I am running an EPOX 8RDA+ with a 2100XP o/c to 2200Mhz, 3 HDs, 2 DVDROM/DVD/RW drives, 5 - 80mm fans. I decided to set it back to normal speeds and disconnected the 2 ROM drives. It then booted up ok, and the voltage on the 5V rail was up to 4.6 or better. Is this a sign that my P/S is on it's way out?

I would download the diagnostic utilitity for the boot drive from its manufacturer's site and test it.

That always on IDE light is probably telling you there is something wrong with one or more of the drives on the IDE bus, which include the HDD and DVD drives.

It could be a motherboard controller fault or a drive fault, but I doubt if it is the PSU.

COuld also be that you need to update your chipset drivers, ot that a new app that you installled conflicts with yourt IDE drivers.
