Save File Will Not Save

I got a new board to install, saved my files. Also my Delta Force ".sav" file. reformated my hard drive, reinstalled my programs. Reinstalled Delta Force.....copied and pasted the game .sav file into the Delta Force program. Start the game it says it can not create a .sav file...Ok, so I deleted the file back out...let the game make a file. Then I copied and pasted back over that file, no go....It will read the saved file and play from the last saved point. But when I finish a chapter, exit the game, then return to the game to play again. it starts from the old saved file not the updated one...What did I do wrong or not do?

Ok, this is my last try before I start this game over "SNIFF" from the 15th saved chapter.:(

You checked that the folder aint write protected under properties?
