it has a philips "SAA 7196 H" chip on it, has a chip that says "GPS" then "GSC*80017"

my friend that had it working with redhat 8 said it was made by intel but i cant back that up.

It has 1coax, 1 RCA, 1 S-Video?" and one headphone looking plug on the back of it.

As a matter of curiosity, what can you tell me about the Toshiba DVD drive? Did it ever work since you have had it?...if so, did it just die slowly or all at once..(not that,..that makes a lot of difference.) Just interested in a possible 'project'.

bovon- the dvd drive worked great and all of a sudden i started having stability issues. I removed it and everything was fixed for about a week when my IBM hddrv died. I had allready replaced it so i havent got around to test it. Now i have a laptop and no way to test it. It may have just been the hddrv that was giving me the problems.

crossedup- no, there isnt any cables. It is rack mountable but i do not have the clamps. I belive you can get them off ebay or from belkin for rather cheap. I do have another person intrested but if that falls through i will let you know.
