If anyone can solve this me and my college roomate will be ecstatic. We have Insight cable high speed internet connected to an RCA used cable modem connected to a Belkin Wireless Router model #F5D6231-4. The insight service is working perfectly and was tested. We connected my PC to the router via network cable and it works perfectly. Wireless is also working perfectly at this point. The problem arises when we connected my roomates' PC to the router via network cable, which is neccessary because we constantly transfer large files to each other. Initially this works fine, but after about 5 minutes or so after surfing the internet and signing onto instant messanger the service drops for everyone. Sometimes it is just incredibly slow and nothing loads, and sometimes it drops me from AIM altogether. When I disconnect his cable from the router it works perfectly again. When it is just his computer connected it drops after about 15 minutes or so. When it is just mine it works perfect. We formatted his entire computer and the problem still exists. We are both running windows 2000. Any ideas? I've tried everything, I'm 19 and so fed up I think my head is going to explode. Any and all advice will be taken and tested. Please help!!!!!

Have you tried swapping out his NIC?

Sound like the network card or cable

replace the cable first then the nic.
