While they are at it they might as well sue themselves for letting their kids watch TV too.

If ya ask me, there's something wrong with the kids, not the game. They had to have a problem to think they could do that, geez, get real people.

My opinion is that parents blame video games and television because they don't want to take any responsibility for their kid's actions. If a child is raised correctly by the parent(s), then he/she probably wont grow up to be a criminal. But, if he/she was raised correctly and still ends up being a criminal, the parent(s) should have known their child well enough beforehand to know that he/she needed some form of counseling/therapy early on.

Just my two cents.

agreed, i think it also is due to parents ignorance towards the gaming community, They just see killing and assume it brainwashes their kids into going out and copying this behavior.
They fear what they do not understand, there is always going to be something that goes liek this.....

Therapy, not for children. Only in abuse and such serious situations is that actually useful in my opinion and observations. Child therapy for minor things which will lead to that (such as incompetent parenting) is useless. I was a psych major, I've worked in pysch wards. Children don't understand that stuff at a young age about feelings of others and such, they can't comprehend it, and by the time they are old enough, if they've already developed the pattern of "I don't give a ****," therapy isn't going to work as the parents have trained the kid to be ignorant. A swift hand across the [*-deleted word-*] is what kids need nowadays when they are young and misbehave - just all these "experts" say it encourages violent behavior. Yeah, if overused, or your playing Mike Tyson, otherwise it has been proven more effective in studies. Look at 50 years ago when a swift hit was common and not illegal, and look at the cheerful timeout system (if even that) that parents read from these [*-deleted word-*] self proclaimed professionals (who some don't even have kids for crying out loud). I think the swift hand across the [*-deleted word-*] is the more effective method along with actually being in your child's life instead of having the PS2 sit in for them.

Darn, I hate think what may have happened if they had watched "Pulp Fiction".

That means we should ban all violent and bloody PC games?

Just think, How many people have played (or own) GTA 3 and haven't done anything bad? Out of the millions of people who play it, like 5-10 do a crime. Well why can't we say the same thing about watching TV? I'm sure more people who watch TV commit crimes than people who play GTA 3. It think it is the parents fault for not monitering their kids. And its more so THOSE STUPID KIDS fault for going and doing things they see on TV (or play on TV for that matter). The parents won't win, because GTA 3 or Rockstar didn't make the kids do anything. Rockstar/GTA 3 didn't hold a gun to the kids head and say if you don't do a crime spree, we'll shoot you. They didn't drug the kids. It was the kids fault, plain and simple.

If you did something stupid, what would you blame?
I still can't believe how everyone blames someone/something else. :(

I bet at least 50 kids that watched teletubbies will grow up to be serial killers!:D

I think the swift hand across the *** is the more effective method

My father did that to me and all it did was make me resent him. Thats all I have to say...

There is no single solution for kids, as every child is greatly different, but I agree, in general people in this country don't want to take responsability fo there own action.

My little Johnny would never do this, it was cause of that **** game, I grew up with Mario Bros. don't mean I want to eat mushrooms and jump on turtle!!!!!!!

Well maybe the shrooms:x

Follow the money...parents blame who they can sue...pathetic. If its not a game maybe it's a movie company or a band, maybe the school the kids goto whatever...anyone but themselves. Mom and dad work all day to afford a better BMW than the neighbors and let tv and playstations do the parenting. Then they wonder why junior turns into a freak.

If games and tv truly shaped personalities, I would have killed every man, woman and child on the planet by now.

Ok now it's back to playing Postal2 while watching Scarface and listening to Napalm Death on the stereo :x
