mostly for all you yankees out there, and the odd confederate as well, you really got to listen the new LP, cos British Rock is back with this band. Totally excellent.
Listen to "Love on the rocks with no ice" my personal favourite, but thw whole album, Permission to Land is brilliant.
ROCK I said.

The Darkness, doign in 2003 for tight trousers what the beegee's did in the 70's.
I hate to say it, but its all been done before, think the beegees vocals, meets AC-DC and Sweet crossed with 'This Is Spinal Tap' and your there, theres nothing new about it, though by and large the music is pretty decent. If you've seen their TV interviews they seem to have a good sense of humor and you cant see them and not help thinkign of 'This Is Spinal Tap'. However that guys voice does disturb me greatly... but it is amusing seeing all these skater and goth kids running around singing 'I Believe in a thing called love' in ridiculously high voices

lol, you complain about a band who ape 70's glam rock and have a lead singer who's partial to falsetto vocals, then champion a band with possibly the worst lyrics ever and a chain-smoking oxygen-tank chugging school-boy-outfitted lead guitarist, and a name that means "bisexual"? Admittedly AC/DC are *the* riff masters (after RATM obviously) :D
LOL... i dunno who any of the ppl you are talkin bout are APART FROM Led Zeppo and The Who

Yes, but ACDC have character, as do the darkness of course, but the latter just arent heavy enough for me.
As for RATM, one of the best bands ever, full stop, good politics too if i may say so myself, shame they went on to end up as the godawful Audioslave

Audioslave are a bit dire. Strange really, because I'm a pretty big Chris Cornell fan, and the rest of the band's just RATM. Where they went wrong is a mystery. Probably when Chris stopped drinking, the fool :D

I dont think Cornell has the 'voice' for the RATM sound, not raw or angry enough, as such the music has had to change andit feels flat and boring, none of the anger or passion that there was in the good days of RATM when they were soundig off about the injustices of the world.
