Audio recording & SiS 7012

[Easy]

Having problems with level of line input to laptop trying to record vinyl lps - can't get it low enough.

I've tried all adjustments to Sound control Properties, recording levels, etc, so please no answers that have anything to do with Wndows GUI adjusted recording levels

I want to try downlading latest drivers - SiS download site http://download.sis.com/sisdlc/driver_list.jsp
doesn't seem to be working

Latest drivers listed here (7012_106.zip) are dated 2002-11-14

1. Anyone know any other site I might be able to get this file from (with this date: I've found alternative sites with older versions)?

2. Any way of getting finer control over line input levels directly, somehow bypassing the GUI...?

well that's weird... just tried again

I can get to the download page with 7012_106.zip on but no matter which site (tw, us, uk) I select nothing happens when I click on download - been that way all week...

Now found this (didn't come up in Google search before). Driver here is dated 08-04-2003, so I'll give it a go

If l remember correctly there is some kind of registration procedure for driver download.

What program are you using to convert from vinyl?
Are you going from analog to wave?

Yes, analog to wave, then onto CD

How do we 'merge' these threads (Admin option)? And yes, I see I goofed - same project...
