Hey. I just saw a 64MB Radeon SDR AGP video card in a Best Buy insert, but I'm not sure if I have an AGP port... How can I tell? Also, is this a good card for the price? Thanks!

What price?

The AGP port is normally above your PCI slots and usually it will be brown or tan colored and shorter in length..

don't mix it up with an AMR which is usually
under the PCI(white) slots and it is very short in lenght.

Also if you find your AGP port check in your manual (manufacurer) if it is a 4x,2x,or just 1xAGP.

Oops, it costs $99. Is there a way to tell other than opening my computer? I really don't feel like unplugging everything http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif.

Look in your bios and see if there is any AGP enable, disable stuff in there.

Can stuff be used in computer terminology??

you won't get a concrete answer by looking in the bios (you might have onboard AGP but no agp slot, like me)

look round the back of your comp. if your monitor cable is plugging into the uppermost slot then you can ASSUME you have AGP.

hmmm they included a CD-RW???
why?

you never ever assume when your deciding to purchase computer hardware. you will just be wasting your time. just open your case. look at the very top for a brown slot above the PCI slots.
