I had 3 accounts removed promptly from Tripod as a result of uploading 3 or 4 MP3s to go with my site. Has Tripod stopped accepting MP3 files? Has this happened to anyone else?

They are not accepting mp3 files even if you made them recording your voice with a Mandolin.!!!
I uploaded some of my songs for a cousin to hear it and within 8 hours.... my webpage was gone.! I have two backups so I didn't had any problems with that.!! I mailed them about it and told them that it wasn't copyrighted material... they said they'll keep me posted.!!
