How difficult is it to Mass produce a hardware firewall?
Why is no one doing this?
The price could be low and yet worth huge profit.

There are many mass produced hardware firewalls, however, the prices aren't that affordable.

What do yo mean by affordable? My linksys cost $70, with a firewall. I do wish they would cost about $15. Then like you said eveyone would get one.

Wonder how much knowledge one needs to do simple one for a basic user. It maybe profitable.

There are figures showing 145+ millions unit sales for 2003.

$10.00 hardware fix x 145,000,000
$ 1.00 profit x 145,000,000

Lets see if l can find an idle pcb manufacturer. :confused:

We have to make sure to outsource the mass production to India.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but a router use NAT for it's security and is not a hardware firewall.

My Linksys router has a hardware firewall. I've done several of the online tests for system security ( got the links for them from here ) and as far as the outside world is concerned, I don't even exist. You can't see my IP add., no ports are open or visible. I could add more security I suppose by adding the Zonealarm pro software they suggest, but so far, I fail to see a need for it.:t
