I cannot get BF1942 running in multiplayer mode between 2 PC's with XP home and XP pro???????:confused:

try using LAN option if there is one instead of online, or if you use online connect to a direct IP (the IP of the host computer)

Are they directly connected via crossover cable etc or through a switch or hub?

are you using one copy of the Game for both computers?

The two PC's are connected via a crossover cable and are using their own copy of the game. I have tried to set up a local LAN game but can't see the other PC and when it sets up It can't see me.

make sure the two of you are on the same workgroup name

WORKGROUP is different from workgroup as WORKGROUP. is different from WORKGROUP

right click on 'my computer'->properties->Computer Name (shows the workgroup name or the domain name if the computer is set up for a domain)
