If you just run the CLI client, do you need to do anything else or will it run and also will it startup if cpu is rebooted?

I recommend using setihide (http://setihide.de/1544.zip) or setidriver (http://www.wakeassoc.com/setidriver/SETIDriver.zip) with the client.
