I just bought an IBM 18gig ultra 66 hard drive and when I formated it I only got up to 17.2 gigs. Is this normal? Also in windows it says it is a 16.7 gig hard drive. Thanks

Technically speaking 1GB is 1024 Mb. However many manufactures round there values of 1GB to 1000MB. This loss in accuracy is where your lost space has gone. It's not a problem though and 18-17.6GB whats the differerce!!! SysOpt.com
