I have an XP machine that ha 2 nics in it -- one is connected to the lan with 192.168.x.x address and the other nic is used for internet access. I do not want to change the network address scheme. The xp machine does not know which nic to use when trying to get on the internet. Seems like I need to add a route. Does anyone know the route command that I need to add?

are you just trying to set up ICS?

if you are using ICS, you must use 192.168.0.x for your network.

I am not trying to use ICS. I want this XP machine to be the only machine to access the internet. ICS does not work because ICS uses the 192.168.0.x scheme and this network has 192.168.4.x

The 192.168.4.x scheme can not be changed on this network either..

Then you'll need to use a third party proxy software. Try AnalogX

Why don't you just get a router?

My tip would be to use the wizard, it's probably not the way to learn about networking, but by golly it works.
