Help with This ****!!!

Alright, something's definitely messed up with my sound configuration. it used to be that when i had winamp running i could also play quake and here both sounds, or i could still here the icq alert... but now it says "audio device already in use" or something like that and won't let me here two things at once? any help would be fantastic. thanks

Thats the way I have ever seen it?? your soundcard usually can only play wav files from one source at a time... the icq files are wav files, and winamp converts the files to wav type format, there is an option in winamp for direct sound, but it is still contolled by the wav volume in the volume section in windows.... Are you sure you played both???

On my old ESS audiodrive, I could only play 1 thing at once. On my new SBL!V, I can paly millions of things at once (2 MP3's ICQ alert, and a game at least..=P). I think it has to do with number of voices...
Anyways I think maybe it could be the 'multiple instances' checkmark in Winamp config....well make it allow multiple instances. Im not too sure tho, but just thought id explain about the multiple sound thing to drojman.

I as well can only play one sound at a time. If I'm using Winamp, all other sounds are usually ignored and the MP3 is usually uninterupted (but not always). It's weird playing Warcraft 2 and only hearing Metallica... /forum/wink.gif

nope.... i checked multiple instances and i'm still getting the same problem... i have the soundblaster pci64 so i would think it would be able to handle this but maybe not?!?!
