1. On a web aite, how can I create a folder that is invisible or private so that nobody can view its contents? (I'm using Dreamweaver 4)
2. What is the best way to protect pictures from being stolen on the internet that is easy to implement?
The simple answer is anything posted on the web is pretty much fair game even though you copy-right it or anything else - if it can be seen on a web site it can be copied if not directly downloaded and then manipulated - If you don't want it out there, don't put it on the web -
Now - if you only want select people viewing something, you can use various different tools and tokens to secure parts of web sites, but once the person is there they can get to and take anything they can see -
Give us a better idea of the what and the why and we might have a better answer for you -

I've read Frontpage can create a _private folder that is not visible. How can I do the same thing with Dreamweaver?

You might want to consider this shareware solution:
http://awak.tucows.com/preview/194433.html
Artistscope Secure Image 3.0A.
Available from http://www.tucows.com
Tucows has other image securing software, but they don't make it easy to find.
