Hello.

I need help. I have the Connect3D ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128 MB DDR card. When I first got it, I could play and there were no problems. But now everytime I try to play a game my system just freezes. Can't move the mouse, CTRL + ALT + DEL doesn't work etc. Have to restart. Basically, I can play about 10 minutes and then, freezes as I said. I have tried Catalyst 3.7, older and now I have Catalyst 3.6. Op system is Windows XP Pro and the Service Pack 1.

welcome to sysopt :t

could be any number of things:

-that card seems to have problems with certain chipsets, mobos

- when did you buy it - apparently some of the new cards when first released had problems - is it too late to rma it if that's the case?

- do you have a 400w or better PSU?

- setting bios AGP 8X and Fast Writes enabled?

- installed directx9?

this ain't a gaming problem - you'll get more help in the video card forum

Try uninstalling and reinstalling (update too) the sound drivers. Games do have sound.

I've had that happen more than once - lost the onboard sound altogether when I installed BF1942 - removed it in device manager, rebooted and bingo - sound again

weird.....
