Will work fine if he just uses the internet, emails, and types up some word documents. Without listing the specs couldn't tell you how good it is, but its definately not a high powered PC.

If all he was looking for was your basic PC, then that's what he got..If he has any tech issues tell him to see you or come here to Sysopt and avoid Compaq/HP technical support..It sucks monkey ***s!:t

Well, I used to do tech support for Comtrash, they are what builders call a "throwaway" machine. If anything goes wrong or you want to upgrade, you are best to just throw them away. I am sure your friend made his decision based on cost. They offer such "great deals" that builders can't compete pricewise. However, he'll soon see the error of his ways:eek:

When it breaks and he wants you to fix it just tell him you cant touch it as long as its under warranty. :)
If i was going to buy prebuilt large manufacturer id go dell. HP used to be okay but they bought Compaq. I wouldnt touch either one now.
Been messing with some older Compaq's the last week, the ones with the BIOS info on the HD. Nightmares. What a dumb idea.

Compaq's are not that bad, I used two of the cases bashed flat to fit a leaky hole in me shed roof, the HDD was just the right thickness to stop me planting table wobbling and the rest of the inards made a good base for the concrete car port, once they were shredded of course.
Now, who did you say bought a compaq? stay well clear of him, seriously dangerous character flaw showing up there.
