Can u tell me what speakers work with this motherboard. Im looking at two different speakers to get Creative Labs Inspire 5.1 5200 for $75.00 and Logitech Z640 5.1 Speaker for $65.00. I was reading some reviews on newegg and ppl with the same mobo that got the logitech speakers had problems with the center channel not working. If u have any 5.1 speakers around this price range and u have the same mobo let me know.

Yep got almost exactly this set up.
ASUS A7N8X dlx
Barton 2500 at 2.2GHz
1GIG dual channeled Twinmos DDR400 ram
Creative inspire 5100 5.1 surround speakers.
Usual other bits, dvd, cutter optical mouse and keyboard, etc
Cost of speakers were about £38 which is about $60 ish.
I did initially have a problem getting the centre speaker and subwoofer to work but if you read the mobo manual and go through the speaker setup wizard for the soundstorm you'll find the answer. Here's where the cables from the subwoofer box go:-
Left and right go into the Analogue out port (GREEN)
Left and right surround go into the Surround Sound Left/Right port ((BLUE)
Centre and subwoofer go into the Microphone(ORANGE)
Speakers plug into the subwoofer box as described on the back of the box.
When setting up the 6 speaker system in the setup wizard specify that the speaker use Analogue AND Digital out and then specify that the centre and subwoofer is connected to the microphone socket.
Quality of output is extremely good for my purposes, games/dvd's,etc.

yeah i had trouble getting ALL my speakers to work, it start out giving just 2 speakers and the sub, but you have to do the wizard like a million times to figure out the proble. the problem i had was that i was enabling digital or something and when i made it analog only it worked great

A tell tale sign you have the set up wrong is when you run 'Test Tone' you will here the centre speaker say 'centre; but it will sound muffled. This means it's set up wrong. Go through the wizard and have another go.
