I have 2 computers in my house that are networked. The network is fine. One of the computers has only Win98 on it, while the other computer has a dual-boot setup with Win98 and WinXP.
When I have both computers booted into Win98 and startup Need For Speed 4, I use IPX to setup a 2-player game. Everything works fine, the race starts, and everything runs smooth.
If one computer is booted into Win98 and the other computer is booted into WinXP, and I do the same 2-player setup with Need For Speed, the 2 computers can't see eachother. I create a 2-player race on the WinXP system, and the Win98 comp doesn't see it, or vice versa.
Is this a problem with the different versions of the IPX protocol? Or is it just the game?
Thanks
