I ping through a Cisco and then a Tigress Router to a win2000 server. When I use a '98 or a NT workstation I can ping the server with it's IP address and Computer name.
With the XP workstations I can ping using the server's IP address but can not ping to the server's computer name. I can however ping the server using the fully qualified domain name - servername.domain.com
That is a issue on all the XP machines and the Wins is set up for Enable Netbios over TCP/IP and enable LMHOST.
